Open Seven Days a Week

WildCare's courtyard and museum are open to the public seven days a week from 9am to 5pm*. Click for directions.

Our wildlife rehabilitation hospital accepts patients from 9am to 5pm (9am - 7pm June - August.) Call our Living with Wildlife Hotline at 415-456-7283 for more information and assistance.

Free Daily Courtyard Schedule -

Wildlife Ambassadors are on view in our courtyard every day. Special presentations of ambassadors are available as follows (schedule subject to change without notice):

Pool Bird Feedings
Daily at 12:30 and 4:30

Each day our pelicans, cormorant and gulls enjoy a wonderful lunch and dinner of smelt. Feeding is a noisy, exciting time and a great deal of fun to watch. At most feedings one or more of the birds may be participating in some training. Our Wildlife Ambassador Volunteers will introduce you to our wonderful pool birds and be happy to answer any of your questions.

A sad note: Winter the White Pelican passed away on Monday, March 18 from causes unknown. We are awaiting tests to determine cause of death, but we will miss Winter tremendously.

Virginia Opossum Feedings
Daily at 4:00 pm

Our Educational opossum loves his food, as do all opossums.  He receives his dinner at 4:00 every day; and often has to work for it.  Our Wildlife Ambassador Volunteers provide a wide variety of enrichments to provide the opossum with physical and mental challenges. Whether ripping open a box, digging through hay or turning over a container, the opossum is always rewarded with a yummy treat. Come watch the fun!

Meet the Trainer

WildCare is fortunate to have a skilled, dedicated group of volunteers who ensure our Wildlife Ambassadors are fed, cleaned, trained and enriched daily. At various times throughout any day you may see them working with one of our Ambassador Wild Animals.  They are always happy to talk to you and answer your questions (except during training when they must focus on the animal – they will answer any questions afterwards). Each day, at various times, we do have scheduled courtyard interactions with our Trainers.  Please see below for the current schedule.
