WildCare's Terwilliger Nature Camps are fun, stimulate learning about nature and instill a life-long respect for the environment.

Weekly camp programs are designed to captivate, engage and challenge young people, building environmental knowledge and values.

Weekly topics and hikes immerse children in specific nature themes. Fees include a camp T-shirt.

Scholarships Available
WildCare offers full and partial scholarships for van programs, field trips, and camps to schools and families in need. Contact Eileen Jones at 415-453-1000 x12 or education@wildcarebayarea.org for more information or download a scholarship form here.

Small Groups in a Secure Setting

Programs are taught by experienced teacher/naturalists who share their own knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of wonder with children. Group size ranges from 8-16 children with a low adult/child ratio to ensure individual attention.

Special Considerations for 3-4 year-old Camp Sessions

Campers must have attended pre-school and be completely potty-trained. There is no hike for this age group. The full-day camp option is not available for 3 - 4 year-olds.

Field Trip Transportation

Campers go on weekly field trips to a pre-determined site. Campers attending full-day and half-day camps will be dropped off and picked up at the field trip site by their guardians. We strongly encourage the use of carpools.

Nature Camp Assistants

Too old to be a regular camper? Students entering grades
8 - 12 may work as Nature Camp Assistants if they are at least 3 years older than the campers. All Assistants may earn community service hours through the program. Application, interview, recommendation form and attendance at a training session is mandatory. Assistants help younger campers with craft projects, hikes, hand-on activities, etc., while absorbing the program content, gaining knowledge and building confidence. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience working with children! Click to learn more or call or email Eileen Jones at 415-453-1000 x12 or education@wildcarebayarea.org for an application.
