an uninvited guest

When orphaned baby animals come to WildCare, they need specialized care and safe housing to make sure they grow up healthy and strong.

However,  the presence of these babies in Foster Care Volunteers' backyards can attract unwanted attention!

Photographer (and Photo Contest judge) Trish Carney is working on a project about WildCare's Foster Care program, which brought her to our Squirrel Foster Care Team Leader's home.

Trish's infrared camera caught a very curious Bobcat trying to get to the foster care squirrels in their enclosure.

Fortunately the cage withstood his curious paws just fine, and the Bobcat eventually gave up with no harm done... although the squirrels probably had some sleepless nights!
